Wk4 - Udutu Project

(Thank you Eddie, Denny, and Chai for helping me test my project.)

It was fun learning Udutu. The tutorials were awesome because they were short and to the point. I did not get too fancy with customizing my template but I took the "Hello my name is" gif and made it my own. I think the hardest thing to do was figure out what to upload onto the UdutuTeach. I was confused at first about what to upload, but them I tried uploading the zip file and everything worked out fine. I got one friend who tested my course at 3:30am which was about the time I finished. I guess I'm a night owl in the summer time.

  1. @Thourn - I liked your video embedded at the end of the lesson, showing a real world example. This brought the abstraction of the formula into an actual situation that the students could understand and calculate, but also possibly reenact themselves on a smaller scale. This did a good job of making the content relevant and bringing the information full circle to the initial teaching about the right-angle equations.

  2. Thourn I was really impressed by the real world example. It reminded me so much of the project we did with the math word problems. I think you did a really good job of creating a holistic lesson. I felt like everything was unified an connected. I did not miss a beat. It was a refresher for me since I haven't taken math like that in a long time. Overall great job.

  3. Geometry has always been the “challenging” subject for me! I like your interactive board showing the problem. On your assessment, I like how if I got the answer wrong it made me jump back to watch the video again. The best part I liked about your course was the “Real Life” portion. I remembering asking my geometry teacher, “when am I ever going to use this again?” and “why do I have to learn this?”. I also loved your logo! Great Job!

  4. Thourn, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, for your Udutu Geometry lesson. I will definitely be subscribing. Your teaching style is easy to understand. If I had you for a teacher in high school I probably wouldn't feel the way I do about math. I was so excited to get them correct.

  5. Math has never been my strong suit, and although it was the review was clear, it made me feel like I was still in a classroom. Which is fine but with UDUTU you can try to make an attempt to liven up the lesson and or review. I thought that the lesson was effective and straightforward but lacked the coach2win glitter. The real world example at the end made it real for me.
